GLP-1 Breakfast Recipes
11 breakfasts for a morning when you're not remotely hungry. Small, high in protein, and several of them made the night before.
The meal that disappears first
Breakfast is usually the first casualty. You wake up with no appetite at all, a coffee does the job, and by the time you do fancy something it's one in the afternoon. The trouble is that skipping it means the day's protein has to come from two meals instead of three, and two small meals don't leave much room.
Which is why most of these are small and dense rather than generous. Cottage cheese with a jammy egg and a lot of black pepper. Greek yoghurt with berries and a spoon of nut butter. Overnight oats you made last night and don't have to think about. A few spoonfuls of any of them and you're 20g of protein in.
If even that's too much first thing, the smoothie is there. Cold, mild, nothing to chew, and you can drink it slowly over an hour without it becoming a thing. That counts. A breakfast you can actually finish beats a better one you push away.

Common questions
- What should I eat for breakfast when I have no appetite?
- Something small and cold tends to go down more easily than something hot and substantial. Greek yoghurt, cottage cheese, a smoothie or overnight oats all work, and all of them carry 20g of protein or more in a few spoonfuls. If solid food is not happening, drinking it is fine.
- How do I get 30g of protein at breakfast?
- Build it on a tub ingredient rather than on bread. 200g of Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese is around 20g to 24g on its own, and an egg or a spoon of nut butter takes it the rest of the way. Most of the breakfasts here land between 20g and 30g.
- Can I make these the night before?
- Several are designed for it. The overnight oats and the smoothie bowls are better made ahead, and the cottage cheese and yoghurt bowls take about three minutes in the morning, which is usually the difference between eating and not.
- Is it a problem if I skip breakfast on GLP-1 medication?
- Plenty of people do, and it is worth talking to whoever prescribes for you about how you are eating overall rather than taking advice from a recipe page. What we would say is that getting the day started with some protein makes the rest of it easier, because there is less to fit into fewer meals later on.
