Lean Turkey Meatballs with Courgette (38g Protein)

Lean Turkey Meatballs with Courgette (38g Protein) — high-protein GLP-1 recipe, 38g protein per serving

Meatballs are an easy way to make lean protein feel comforting. Keeping them small and moist makes them gentle to eat on GLP-1 medication, and a serving lands around 38g of protein without feeling heavy.

One meal won't hit a daily target on its own — here's how much protein you actually need on a GLP-1.

  • 500g lean turkey mince
  • 1 egg
  • 30g (¼ cup) grated parmesan
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 courgettes (zucchini), sliced into half-moons
  • 500g passata (sieved tomatoes)
  • Salt and black pepper

Method

  1. 1Mix the turkey mince, egg, parmesan, oregano, salt and pepper, then roll into small meatballs.
  2. 2Heat the olive oil in a large pan and brown the meatballs all over for about 5 minutes.
  3. 3Add the courgette and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. 4Pour in the passata, cover, and simmer gently for 12, 15 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.

Tips for GLP-1 appetites

  • Rolling the meatballs small keeps them moist and easy to eat when your appetite is small.
  • Lean turkey is light on the stomach compared with richer red meats that can feel heavy on GLP-1 medication.
  • Leftovers reheat well, portion them out for an easy 38g-protein lunch.
