Air Fryer Chicken Wings

Air Fryer Chicken Wings — high-protein GLP-1 recipe, 26g protein per serving

"Air Fryer Chicken Wings" lands at 25.5g of protein for 270 calories a serving, which makes it an easy way to hit a protein target on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound without overeating. It leans pungent, so save it for a day your stomach is settled rather than right after an injection.

Ingredients

  • 20 chicken wingettes and drumettes
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or more to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground sage
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Method

  1. 1Pat the wings completely dry and mist the air-fryer basket with oil.
  2. 2In a large bowl, toss the wings with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, thyme, sage and baking powder until evenly coated.
  3. 3Arrange in a single layer (in batches as needed) and air-fry at 400°F for 16–22 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
  4. 4To oven-bake instead, set them on a rack at 425°F for about 45 minutes, flipping halfway.

Tips for GLP-1 appetites

  • Not the gentlest option on a rough stomach day — better suited to when appetite and digestion feel normal.
  • Go lighter on the strong aromatics (garlic, onion, spice rub) if smells are a trigger right now.
  • At 25.5g of protein a serving, this alone gets you a meaningful chunk of the way to a daily 80–120g protein target.
